Data Analysis with Power BI (PBI)
Why data analysis with Power BI matters
Decisions move faster when everyone looks at the same numbers. A well-built Power BI model brings data from several sources into one place, applies the same definitions to every measure and publishes reports that refresh on a schedule, so managers can explore trends and drill into detail themselves.
Without it, reports are assembled by hand, figures differ from one department to the next, and dashboards are out of date soon after they are sent. This programme takes you through the full Power BI workflow, from raw data to a shared dashboard, in hands-on sessions and a final project, and leads to a Transights certificate of completion.
What you will be able to do
- Connect Power BI to files, databases and online sources and shape the data with Power Query
- Organise data into fact and dimension tables with relationships and a date table
- Write DAX measures using CALCULATE and simple time intelligence functions
- Design interactive reports with suitable visuals, slicers, filters and drill-through
- Publish to Power BI Service, pin visuals to dashboards and set up scheduled refresh
- Add trend lines, forecasts, AI visuals and what-if parameters to test business scenarios
