Business Intelligence with Tableau (TAB)
Why business intelligence with Tableau matters
A chart that answers the right question can settle a discussion that a table of figures would prolong. When analysts can combine sources, derive the metrics that matter and arrange views into a dashboard with a clear narrative, decision-makers see the pattern, the exception and the trend without reading every row.
Without that skill, data reaches meetings as dense tables or as charts that compare the wrong things, and the insight is lost before it reaches the people who need it. This programme takes you from your first data connection to published, interactive dashboards through hands-on sessions, and leads to a Transights certificate of completion.
What you will be able to do
- Connect Tableau to files and databases and prepare data with joins, unions, relationships and blending
- Build bar, line, map and table views, and explore data with filters, sorting and grouping
- Create calculated fields, table calculations and level-of-detail (LOD) expressions
- Design interactive dashboards with dual-axis and combination charts, filters and dashboard actions
- Structure findings into a Tableau story and add trend lines, reference lines and forecasts
- Publish workbooks to a Tableau platform and manage access and data refresh
