Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (LSSYB)

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt is the entry level of Lean Six Sigma: it teaches you to recognise waste and variation in a process and to support an improvement team through the DMAIC cycle. This IASSC exam preparation programme covers the five DMAIC phases in 24 hours over 4 weeks, in class in Cairo, live online, or in-house for your team.
A practical overview of Lean Six Sigma covering the core competencies expected of a Yellow Belt. Tools are practised in class, and a comprehensive manual is provided to prepare for the exam.

Why everyday process improvement matters

Improvement projects succeed when the people closest to the work can see where a process loses time, quality and money. A Yellow Belt who knows the seven wastes, can draw a SIPOC or fishbone diagram and reads basic metrics such as DPMO turns everyday frustrations into clear problem statements, and keeps gains in place with 5S and simple controls.

Without that shared language, teams argue from opinion, Green Belt projects lack reliable data from the front line, and improvements fade once the project closes. This programme gives team members a working grasp of DMAIC, leading to the IASSC Certified Yellow Belt (ICYB) designation and a listing in the official IASSC register.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain Voice of the Customer, Critical to Quality characteristics and the cost of poor quality
  • Read a project charter and basic metrics such as DPMO and RTY
  • Build SIPOC, process maps and fishbone diagrams, and summarise data with simple charts
  • Recognise the seven wastes and apply 5S in the workplace
  • Contribute data and ideas to a Green Belt team during root cause analysis and improvement
  • Sustain gains with Kanban, poka-yoke and a control plan
